CALLING ALL PARENT VOLUNTEERS:
PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING THE CHAPERONE POOL
Being a chaperone is a great way to get to know the kids and find out what this whole band program is all about! They may roll their eyes at us sometimes, but they really do love having us around, we promise! It's easy to become a chaperone, and the only equipment you need is a gold polo shirt, which can be purchased through the boosters for $14. If you sign up to be a part of our pool of chaperones, you will have the opportunity to indicate which games/events you are available for. We will then call on chaperones on a rotating basis as needed. Only those chaperones who have been contacted to work each game will be issued a chaperone badge for the evening. Please note: There are a few members of the chaperone team who are scheduled for most games. These folks have practiced with the band on a regular basis in order to support the band managers and assist with the halftime show.

You do need one other thing, though - a background check. As of July 1, 2015, there are actually two, or possibly three, clearances you need to obtain, depending on your situation. Due to recent changes in the law, we are no longer able to get them done through the school district. Clearances are now good for five years and then you will need to renew them.

so that you are added to the high school's list of approved volunteers.
YOU MUST BE ON THE HIGH SCHOOL'S LIST IN ORDER TO ACCOMPANY THE BAND TO ANY FUNCTION
Please do not assume that you are on the list because you have sent in your clearances. Once the Admin Center receives your certificates, they must input them to the computer and update the list of Approved Volunteers. We must have confirmation from the Admin Center before assigning you to chaperone an event.
